Delegates pour in as Geneva Dry unveils official drink

With 280 days to go until the inaugural Geneva Dry conference, due to take place at the Hotel President Wilson on May 2 and 3 next year, organisers report massive take up in terms of delegates and sponsors.

The event, which aims to become the world’s single annual global dry bulk gathering linking every rung of the commodities supply chain, now boasts a stellar line up of speakers covering a diverse range of topics.

As well as the normal tea and coffee, delegates will be able to enjoy something a bit different at the conference, with Geneva Dry today revealing it has an official drinks sponsor.

LVX Geneva Dry Gin will have a table at the event offering gin tasting, and will be coming up with specific cocktails for the two planned evening cocktail receptions.

The gin was created four years ago by Quentin Verne, made in the heart of Geneva. LVX Geneva Dry Gin is made from Swiss grain alcohol and nine high quality botanicals sourced in Switzerland and around the world, asserting itself with floral and spicy notes.

Commented Grant Rowles, commercial director at Geneva Dry, “As with all our events, we’re always looking to make the delegate experience enjoyable and different. Having LVX come onboard, offers our reception sponsors the opportunity to name a special cocktail after their company. Who wouldn’t want to try an Arrow Gin Fixer, for instance?”

LVX joins a fast growing range of sponsors coming to Geneva Dry including AboutShips, Aderco, Arrow, Braemar, Bureau Veritas, Dualog, Inchcape Shipping Services, Inmarsat, Lauritzen Bulkers, Lila Global, Lloyd’s Register, Pacific Basin Shipping, Propel Marine, RightShip, Rustibus, Sea, Taylor Maritime Investments and Veson Nautical.

The number of signed up delegates is growing fast, with organisers today warning people keen to attend to register soon before the event sells out.

“For a debut event, the interest to attend has been phenomenal,” commented Rowles. “This is no doubt down to the calibre of speakers we have been able to attract.”

Designed to bring every rung of the dry bulk supply chain under one roof to hammer out deals and seek collaborative solutions for the sector, a host of commodity giants and top shipowners have agreed to speak at the Swiss event.

Senior executives from commodity powerhouses and top shipowners have committed to the show from the likes of Amaggi, Cargill, Cetus Maritime, CMB, CTM, Grindrod Shipping, Holcim Trading, Lauritzen Bulkers, Lila Global, Mandarin Shipping, Montfort Trading, Pacific Basin Shipping, SwissMarine, Taylor Maritime, Trafigura and Wah Kwong Maritime. Further top speakers will be unveiled shortly.
