DOF clinches decommissioning contract with Shell

Oslo-listed offshore contractor DOF has landed a deal with Norske Shell for subsea engineering, preparation, removal, and disposal in the Atlantic region.

The contract worth between NOK250m ($24m) and NOK500m ($48m) will secure more than 100 combined days of utilisation of the operated vessels Skandi Hera and Maersk Installer.

The workscope includes the recovery and recycling of umbilicals, risers, rigid spools, manifolds and other subsea structures and infrastructure, at the Knarr and Gaupe fields.

DOF said that preparations for the project, which will be run from our offices in Bergen and Aberdeen, had already started with offshore execution set for the second and third quarters of 2025.

“The award continues to demonstrate DOF’s in-house capability of offering turnkey solutions to our existing and new customers, building on our established capability offering in the decommissioning market,’ noted Mons Aase, chief executive of DOF.
