Eni details Libyan oil woes

Cairo: Energy giant Eni has provided details of its struggles to get oil out of Libya. The Italian firm is the largest oil company working in Libya at the moment. Daily oil production, however, has slumped to 135,000 barrels a day, down by around 120,000 barrels from its normal output, the company’s coo Claudio Descalzi said.

Libya is exporting around 150,000-200,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude and hopes to restart shipments from its Mellitah port in the west within 10 days, a government official said on Thursday.  [31/10/13]
