Zodiac Maritime places newly acquired Wah Kwong VLCC into Heidmar pool

Heidmar’s Seawolf Tankers VLCC pool has benefited from the return of Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime as a Heidmar pool partner.

Zodiac Maritime is placing newly acquired 2011-built VLCC Blue Nova into the Seawolf pool, having exited the Star Tankers pool in 2003.

Splash had reported in May that Zodiac had acquired the vessel from Hong Kong’s Wah Kwong for around $53m, marking a return to the VLCC segment for the company after more than ten years.

The latest addition grows the Seawolf Tankers pool to nine VLCCs, with an average age of nine years.

Separately, sources tell Splash that ex-Pioneer Marine CEO Pankaj Khjanna has taken up a position on the Heidmar board.
