Grieg Shipbrokers and Flaship join forces

Grieg Shipbrokers and Flaship Brokers have joined joined forces on capesize and panamax chartering. The new joint venture is now operating as Grieg Flaship Brokers with offices in Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore and Antwerp.

Jeff Lee from Flaship and Berty Rase from Grieg Shipbrokers will head a team of 20 professionals.

“We will draw from the extensive resources of respectively Grieg Shipbrokers and Flaship. Our ambition is to provide the highest level of support and services pre and post fixture, including market intelligence, applied research and analysis,” said Finn Engelsen, managing director of Grieg Shipbrokers

Flaship was established in in 2013 while Grieg Shipbrokers’ history dates back to 1884.

Starting out with the Informa Group in 2000 in Hong Kong, Sam Chambers became editor of Maritime Asia magazine as well as East Asia Editor for the world’s oldest newspaper, Lloyd’s List. In 2005 he pursued a freelance career and wrote for a variety of titles including taking on the role of Asia Editor at Seatrade magazine and China correspondent for Supply Chain Asia. His work has also appeared in The Economist, The New York Times, The Sunday Times and The International Herald Tribune.
