Höegh Autoliners secures new shipping deal with Asian carmaker

Norwegian car carrier player Höegh Autoliners has signed a new shipping contract with a major East Asian carmaker.

The contract valid for shipments until the end of 2028 will see the Oslo-based company transport mainly electric vehicles from Asia to Europe.

Höegh Autoliners did not provide any further details about the deal, but the company’s CEO Andreas Enger said it was with a world-leading car producer.

“We take pride in the trust given to us for bringing their prestigious brands to their end users in Europe in the upcoming years,” Enger said, adding that the trade from East Asia to Europe is one of the company’s core businesses.

In April last year, Höegh Autoliners inked a five-year deal with another Asian automaker to carry cars to Europe. The company, which operates around 40 roros, is building multi-fuel and zero-carbon ready 9,100 ceu vessels at China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) which will be available from the second half of this year.
