Inchcape joins forces with Ambrey

Port agency and marine services provider Inchcape Shipping Services and security specialists Ambrey have partnered up to transform safety and security in the maritime sector.

The synergy will enable the maritime industry to bolster safety protocols, enhance operational efficiency, and address potential risks, the companies said in a statement.

The partnership will integrate Inchcape’s understanding of commercial shipping operations and its associated data, with Ambrey’s risk expertise, and the two sides said that by leveraging each other’s strengths, they will pave the way for “unparalleled safety and security solutions across the maritime sector”.

“By combining our expertise, technology, and global presence, we are confident that we can revolutionise safety protocols in the maritime industry, ensuring safer operations and ultimately enhancing the commercial outcomes for our valued clients,” said Svend Stenberg, chief commercial officer at Inchcape.

The duo will jointly offer a range of services via Inchcape’s dedicated survey and inspection department, led by vice president Chris Greenwood.

This includes citadel inspections, ship security assessments, anti-piracy ship security assessments, ship security plan reviews, and port security assessments on various projects worldwide.

“It is a hugely uncertain time for global shipping and the maritime sector, threats are incredibly dynamic and this is asking serious questions of the existing ways risks to vessels, crew and cargo are being mitigated,” said Chris Charnley, managing director at Ambrey, adding that through the Inchcape tie-up, the company will be able to rapidly and at scale enhance safety and security where it is most needed.
