Latsco contracts four LR2s in South Korea

Greece’s Latsco Shipping has booked four LR2 tankers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea.

Industry sources have identified the Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis-led diversified owner behind the order the shipbuilder from Ulsan recently revealed in a regulatory filing.

The 115,000 dwt newbuilds will be scrubber-fitted and delivered by subsidiary Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the second quarter of 2027 at around $69.6m per unit.

Latsco’s LR2 fleet currently stands at seven vessels, according to shipping databases. The company is also listed with seven other newbuilding projects in the dry bulk and VLGC segments.
