Investigations are proceeding into how a conveyor belt collapsed yesterday at the port of Patillos in northern Chile injuring one port worker and damaging the Leonidas, a two-year-old, 63,000 dwt bulker belonging to Greece’s Lavinia Corporation.

Much of the collapsed conveyor belt is still on the deck of the ship and strewn along the quayside.
