At least five dead following MSC boxship collision off Peru

Five people are confirmed dead and another six missing after the 13,100 teu containership MSC Regulus collided with a small passenger boat off the northern Peruvian coast on Saturday morning.

The passenger vessel, Don Gerado 2, capsized. Another 12 people were listed as wounded following the accident. The MSC boxship was en route from Peru to Mexico when the collision happened.

Investigators have yet to say who is to blame for the tragedy.
