Marinakis orders aframax tanker pair at Daehan

Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis’ Capital Maritime and Trading has placed an order at South Korean yard Daehan Shipbuilding for the contruction of two aframax tankers.

According to shipbroking house Banchero Costa, the two 114,000 dwt tankers, which will be fitted with scrubbers, are scheduled for delivery in the first half 2020. The price for each vessel is around $49m.

Capital Maritime runs a fleet of 27 vessels made up of five bulkers, eight containerships and 14 tankers. It has four VLCCs under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries.
