Maritime CEO Forum: Scrubbers give tanker owners a commercial advantage

Scrubbers present a commercial advantage for tanker owners, maintained a majority of panellists speaking at last week’s tanker session during the Maritime CEO Forum.

Moderator Mark O’Neil, the head of Columbia Shipmanagement, kicked off the panel discussion by asking four tanker owners whether or not they had decided to invest in scrubbers and why. Their answers are carried in the video below where Splash readers can access the views of Heidmar’s Pankaj Khanna, Aurora’s Kenny Rogers, Stena Bulk’s Lars Malmbratt and the lone dissenting voice of Rajesh Unni from Global United Shipping.

A full report on the tanker panel will appear in the next issue of Maritime CEO magazine. Splash will be carrying videos from each session of the Maritime CEO Forum all week.

Maritime CEO Forum Singapore was sponsored by AVS Global Ship Supply, Cobham, Cockett Marine Oil, Dualog, Inmarsat, Liberian Registry, Lloyd’s Register, Marlink, ShipServ, Veritas Petroleum Services and Wilhelmsen Ship Management. The next Maritime CEO Forum takes place at the Monaco Yacht Club on October 22.
