MOL wins Polish FSRU deal

Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has won the contract to deploy Poland’s first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), part of Europe’s dramatic reshaping of energy security in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine two years ago.

The FSRU newbuild will be moored 3 km offshore the port of Gdańsk between the mouths of the Vistula River branches Śmiała and Martwa.

Commissioning of the complete project led by local company Gaz-System is planned in 2027/2028.
