Niels Josefsen to step down at Lauritzen Bulkers

Niels Josefsen is stepping down as chief executive of Danish handysize player Lauritzen Bulkers.

The Copenhagen-based outfit said Josefsen has decided to retire allowing him to spend more time with his family and friends and on personal interests.

The company’s board has launched the search for the next CEO, but Josefsen will remain in his current position until his successor is in place.

“It has been a true pleasure to lead Lauritzen Bulkers for the last five years and I am proud of what we have achieved as a team. I will miss my colleagues and the company, and I will do whatever I can to ensure that the transition to the next generation of leadership will be as smooth as possible,” said Josefsen.

He has led the operator of about 100 handy bulkers since December 2018.
