Ocean Technologies Group acquires Danish regulatory compliance platform

Consolidation within the maritime tech space has continued with London-based Ocean Technologies Group (OTG) acquiring Danish software company DanDocs, which specializes in regulatory compliance.

Established by Ronni Palmqvist, DanDocs is best known for its flagship digital MarineRegulations portal, which offers a comprehensive collection of marine rules and regulations, both onshore and onboard.

The digital platform comprises smart features that help users navigate vital documentation saving time, minimising risks and ensuring that ship operators are updated and notified with the latest regulatory information.

Owned by the pan-European private equity investor Oakley Capital, OTG is a diversified maritime software platform with brands such as Seagull, Videotel, Marlins, Compas and Tero Marine.

The company said the integration of MarineRegulations into its portfolio will offer immediate access to value-added software and services, with users benefiting over time from complimentary capabilities to strengthen their compliance.

Commenting on the acquisition, OTG CEO Thomas Zanzinger (pictured) said: “This acquisition is a natural progression for us. Our entire business revolves around compliance with maritime regulations, and adding a specialist solution and expertise in that specific field greatly enhances our ability to meet our customers’ evolving needs.”

Palmqvist joins the OTG team with 14 years of experience as a compliance and technical director in the marine industry.

“I think we have found the right home at the perfect time as the business needed investment to take it to the next level, Palmqvist said, adding: “I am fully onboard with OTG’s vision of empowering its clients through its suite of software solutions developed to improve ship safety, minimise risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.”
