Ognibene quits Heidmar

Ben Ognibene has resigned from tanker pool Heidmar after 13 years with the company.

Heidmar had come close last month to being sold to New York-headquartered Fortress Investment Group but the deal fell through as George Economou, who held a 49% stake in Heidmar, voted against it, instead choosing to sell his Heidmar holding to his struggling listed dry bulk concern, DryShips in an all share deal.

Morgan Stanley also holds a 49% in Heidmar with the remaining 2% held by employees.

Heidmar has started to look for a replacement for Ognibene while its executive management team has said they will take care of the business in the interim.
