Port of LA and GE Transportation on digital platform that boost efficiency

The Port of Los Angeles on Thursday announced it has joined forces with GE Transportation in a unique pilot scheme for an information portal which they claim will help put goods in US stores more quickly.

The new digital platform will allow stakeholders such as cargo owners, terminal operators and shipping lines to have improved data flow regarding inbound cargo, allowing for more efficiency in the supply chain.

These features will enable the more effective servicing of the new breed of ultra large container vessels.

The Port of Los Angeles is the largest container port in the US.
