Portugal and Brazil ink green shipping corridor agreement

Planned green, digital shipping corridors now crisscross the world’s oceans. The latest heads across the Atlantic, connecting Portuguese-speaking nations.

Portugal’s Sines port and Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional of Brazil have just signed a memorandum of understanding to develop sustainable, green and digital shipping corridors with a strong focus on green hydrogen supplies.

The MoU was signed as part of the Global Gateway, a new European Union strategy to promote smart, clean and safe connections to digital, energy and transport sectors.

The Port of Sines already has a weekly connection of containerised cargo with Brazilian ports.
