PSA in the mix for Kalibaru tender

Singapore: PSA International has thrown its hat into the ring in a bid to operate its first terminal in Indonesia. Local media in Indonesia quoted the Singapore port operator’s chief executive, Tan Chong Meng, as saying: "We will participate in the bid to become one of Indonesia's port operator partners." Tan was discussing the new huge port coming up in north Jakarta, Kalibaru, which has been designed to ease congestion at the nation’s number one port, Tanjung Priok.

Richard Joost Lino, president director of Indonesian port body Pelindo II, said that in addition to PSA, there are about 16 other companies participating in the tender for Kalibaru's container terminal development, including big names such as DP World.  [22/04/13]
