Singapore’s Jasper Investments and Berlitz Marine forge offshore tie-up

Singapore-based Jasper Investments has entered into a strategic collaboration framework agreement with fellow vessel owner and operator Berlitz Marine to expand and grow the company’s core marine and offshore business.

The duo will look into various ventures, including the acquisition, operation and management of offshore support vessels for deployment in the Southeast Asia and Gulf Cooperation Council regions.

Jasper, which mostly targets investments in the offshore oil and gas drilling and services sector, said in a stock exchange filing that the companies will also link up for other marine and offshore related services and supplies, including project and logistics management, operations and maintenance services, fleet management and marine supply.

Established by KM Chan in early 2013, Berlitz lists 19 vessels on its website, comprising tugs and barges, anchor handling tugs, anchor handling supply tugs and multipurpose vessels.

Jasper added that the parties are currently looking at up to eight OSVs as preliminary targets but that there is no limit to the number of vessels that may be supplied under the acquisition programme.
