Singfar contracts for two aframaxes

Singfar Group has expanded its newbuild series with a contract in China for a pair of aframax tankers.

The Singapore-based owner has booked a 115,000 dwt duo at New Times Shipbuilding, according to brokers.

The company, best known for its bunkering business but also active in the crude and product tanker markets, had already ordered four 50,000 dwt MR vessels at China’s Chengxi Shipyard to deliver in 2026.

The MR order was followed by a quiet rebrand of Singfar International into SFI Energy last year.

The logistics and tonnage provider will see the New Times aframaxes, which will sport LNG dual-fuel propulsion, delivered in 2027. No price has been revealed, but brokers estimate similar tonnage in China at $68m and upwards.
