Sinokor linked to triple cape sale

South Korea’s Sinokor Merchant Marine has been named as the seller of three 2016-built capesize bulk carriers in two separate deals worth a total of nearly $130m.

Xclusiv Shipbrokers have linked the Seoul-based owner to a double sale of scrubbed-fitted Chow and Comanche (pictured) to clients of Mittal.

The 181,000 dwt units will fetch $43.5m each. VesselsValue estimates the ships as worth $38.37m and $38m, respectively.

Meanwhile, multiple brokers report Sinokor offloading the 181,100 dwt Contamines to a Greek buyer for around $42m, with Allied placing Piraeus-based Neda Maritime Agency behind the deal.

The sales add to last month’s $18.8m deal with the John Coustas-led boxship tonnage provider, Danaos, for the 175.879 dwt 2009-built West Trader.

As bulker and container tonnage continues to exit Sinokor’s fleet, the company has been busy acquiring tankers, with four VLCCs snapped up from Oman’s Asyad Shipping between July and September.
