SIPG-backed new terminal opens in Lianyungang

A new container terminal has opened at Lianyungang, a port city in northern Jiangsu province located in between Shanghai and Qingdao.

Lianyungang Hulian Container Co is a joint venture between Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) and the Port of Lianyungang

Lianyungang port and SIPG inked a strategic cooperation agreement in 2021, which has seen the city grow fast in terms of container service calls.

The port’s box throughput grew 10.6% last year to total 5.57m teu placing it in 32nd place among the world’s top container ports, according to data from Linerlytica.
