Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad has clinched a new contract for its construction support vessel, Normand Tonjer.
The firm deal with an unnamed international client is for 18 months plus two 180-day extension options.
The charter of the 2010-built unit starts in April, with rates in line with current market levels, the company said.
Solstad owns 55% of Normand Tonjer, with the remaining stake held by external shareholders. The company exercised its option to purchase the vessel out of lease financing in December. The Norwegian-flagged ship has been supporting ocean bottom node seismic operations for Magseis Fairfield since 2018.
