Solstad ships out laid-up AHTS pair

Norway’s Solstad Maritime has continued clearing its unemployed anchor-handling tug supply units.

The owner of more than 30 offshore vessels has offloaded the 2007-built Far Sound and the 2008-built sister vessel Far Scimitar for a net gain of about $7m.

Both ships, which had been laid up in Asia for many years, have already been delivered to an undisclosed buyer.

The refinanced Solstad Offshore owns about 27% of Kjell Inge Rokke-backed Solstad Maritime. The company also disposed of the 2008-built AHTS Nor Spring in November, netting around $4.8m.
