SPDB Financial Leasing takes over two CMA CGM ships

China’s SPDB Financial Leasing, the leasing unit of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, has completed an operating lease deal for two containerships with CMA CGM.

Under the deal, SPDB Financial Leasing bought 2010-built 11,380 teu containerships CMA CGM Leo and CMA CGM Libra from CMA CGM. Other details of the transaction were not disclosed.

SPDB Financial Leasing has been growing its presence in the ship leasing sector. Currently it owns seven CMA CGM containerships and two VLGCs.
