Survey finds China has best investment opportunities

London: A transport survey carried out by law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, which garnered more than 850 responses worldwide, sees China come out on top again as the country or region that offers the best opportunity for investment over the next two to five years. 30% of respondents opted for China in the fifth edition of the law firm’s transport survey, down from 43% in 2010.

In other China-related news from the global poll, Davide Barzilai, a partner at the firm’s Hong Kong office, noted on local ship finance: “We have seen pricing in the China shipping market reach a more balanced level over the last year but are beginning to see downward pressure on margin and arrangement fees as more banks come back into the shipping finance market.”

SinoShip’s sister title, Maritime CEO, carried out its own Future of Shipping Poll at the turn of the year with more than 1,000 respondents and plenty of comment on China. Full results of the poll will be made available when the magazine launches in 10 days.  [28/02/14]
