Tufton Oceanic linked with post-panamax boxship pair

UK-based Tufton Oceanic is being linked by brokers as the buyer of a pair of Claus-Peter Offen 9,200 teu ships. No price has been revealed for the MSC Lisbon and MSC Roma, both built at Samsung Heavy Industries in 2007 and 2006 respectively, but brokers note the deal includes the balance of a time charter to MSC at $34,800 per day.

Tufton Oceanic most recent deals have tended to focus more on bulkers and tankers.

The two boxships were previously owned by Conti, which Claus-Peter Offen moved to buy out this March.
