Wuhan Newport Changhai orders feeder boxship pair at WUT Guangda

Wuhan Newport Changhai Container Shipping, a regional shipping service provider on the Yangtze River, has awarded a shipbuilding contract to WUT Guangda Shipbuilding for the construction of two 1,100 teu feeder boxships.

The company expects the construction of the vessels to be complete within one year.

The vessels will be used to serve the growing demand for cargo transport from Wuhan Port to Shanghai Port.

China’s river to sea shipping market has seen major progress in developments with the support the Ministry of Transport, with many ship operators looking at opening new services.
