Wuhan to invest $793m in new port area

Major Yangtze River port Wuhan Port is going to develop a new port area, including a container terminal, at Hannan in Wuhan. Total investment for the project will be around RMB5.15bn ($793m).

The project will be developed in two phases, with phase one project starting this year with an investment of RMB1bn ($154m). The second phase project will include an automobile logistics park in the port area.

Wuhan Port said the port expansion is part of its plan to develop Wuhan into a regional shipping hub on the Yangtze River.
