Thoresen sells another open-hatch bulk carrier

Thailand’s Thoresen Shipping has sold 1995-built open hatch bulk carrier Thor Endeavour, fetching $4.25m for the 42,529 dwt vessel.

The sale leaves Thoresen with a fleet of 20 vessels with an average age of 11.58 years, and is in line with the company’s strategy to remove older tonnage. In November, it scrapped the larger 2002-built open hatch bulk carrier Thor Horizon, selling it for around $5.4m.

Thoresen said proceeds from the sale will be used to improve the efficiency of the fleet and the company’s fleet renewal program.
