Worker strike ends at Damen Galati

The worker strike at Damen Galati Shipyard ended yesterday after the yard’s latest offer was accepted by workers.

The strike started on Tuesday with the workers were unhappy over salary levels, however according to local reports the shipyard’s offer were accepted by the workers around 11am local time and all went back to work.

Employee sources told local media that the shipyard has offered a new payment structure including salary increase and other benefits, and negotiations with the shipyard would continue until September 15.
