Rindbo quits Pacific Basin to take on Norden role

Copenhagen: As was widely expected Danish tanker and bulker operator Norden has tapped Jan Rindbo to become its new chief executive. Rindbo will take on the role from next summer. He has been with Hong Kong’s Pacific Basin since 2001 rising to the role of chief operating officer, which strangely saw him operate out of Copenhagen rather than Pacific Basin’s Hong Kong headquarters.

The former Pacific Basin ceo, Klaus Nyborg, who has since become Norden's vice chairman, has been serving as Norden’s interim chief executive since the previous incumbent, Carsten Mortensen, stepped down in June to move to the BW Group.
One source connected to Pacific Basin quipped that there had been a pool running inside the Hong Kong firm on whether Rindbo would take the job so widespread was the speculation on his likely Norden anointment.  [31/10/14]
