Aurecon ups Asian marine presence

Singapore: Engineering firm Aurecon has appointed Jeroen Overbeek as Ports and Marine Leader, Asia, based in Singapore. Overbeek brings over 23 years of global experience in ports and marine design and construction projects.

“With Aurecon’s extensive experience in delivering major ports infrastructure projects across ANZ, Africa and the Middle East, this is a really exciting opportunity for me to lead the team in expanding our services in the Asian market and ensure our clients benefit from the wide experience and expertise Aurecon brings to ports and marine projects,” said Overbeek.

In his previous role as Director of Delta Marine Consultants, Overbeek led numerous design, advisory, tender and feasibility assessment projects across the Middle East and Asia, particularly Singapore.

Tony Barry, general manager operations Asia, noted the importance of this key role in Asia saying, “Aurecon is investing in Asia in line with the rapid expansion of infrastructure in the region. Jeroen’s appointment will enable us to utilise Aurecon’s entire range of highly specialised services around port and marine infrastructure in Asia and ensure our clients in the region benefit from our multidisciplinary offering.” [27/08/13]
