Borr Drilling awarded another Pemex jackup deal

Tor Olav Troim’s Borr Drilling has been awarded an additional jackup rig contract by Mexico’s Pemex.

Borr currently has two jackup rigs about to commence work with Pemex, who have now contracted a third rig. The new contract is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2019, and is for around 18 months.

“The newly awarded contract is the Company’s fourth contract award in Mexico in less than nine months and is a result of the company’s strong focus on the region. The Company has established a robust regional office and operations in the country, and is optimistic about future opportunities arising from the continued strong demand seen in the region,” the company stated.
