Calls to slash turnaround times at Tanjung Perak
Jakarta: A state-run port operator has been hauled up for its tardy turnaround times at one of its ports. Ships spend up to eight days at Pelindo III’s Tanjung Perak port in Surabaya. Authorities are demanding that Pelindo III cuts that time in half. The port operator has blamed the slow handling times on a lack of customs officials.
The port is close to breaking through the 3m teu mark. [12/05/14]
