CANSI ‘not optimistic’ on market outlook

Beijing: Tough times for China’s shipbuilders continue with the latest report from the China Association of National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI) noting the market outlook is “not optimistic”. CANSI noted fewer deals and limited price hikes as it reviewed the first seven months of the year and looked ahead.

New shipbuilding orders jumped 42.5% from last year to 45.73m dwt during the first seven months, while completed shipbuilding volume fell 21.5% to 20.66m dwt, according to CANSI.  [09/09/14]
