CBED clinches new vessel contract in German North Sea

Offshore accommodation specialist CBED has secured more work for its walk-to-work service operation vessel in the German North Sea.

The 1999-built Wind Innovation will be utilised on Ørsted’s Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 wind farms from the first quarter of 2024 until the end of the fourth quarter of the same year.

The contract will start after the vessel’s current employment in the German North Sea on Vattenfall-operated DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms.

Gode Wind 3 is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2024, with Borkum Riffgrund 3 following in early 2025. The latter, with its capacity of 900 MW, will be Germany’s largest wind farm to date.
