Chapman leaves Golar LNG board, Stolt-Nielsen may join

Sir Frank Chapman is to step down as chairman of the board of Golar LNG and will not stand for re-election in order to “focus on other interests”.

Dan Rabun has been nominated to be Chapman’s successor as chairman after the AGM on September 23. Rabun was, until May 2015, chairman of energy company Ensco, and currently serves on the board of Apache Corporation.

Niels Stolt-Nielsen, chairman of chemical carrier group Stolt-Nielsen and of LPG carrier Avance Gas, has accepted to be nominated as a candidate to become a member of the Golar LNG board.

Golar board member Kate Blankenship has also decided not to stand for re-election due to other professional commitments.

“It has been a very busy year for Golar which has seen much progress on strategy, business development and communications with our shareholders. The growing list of GoFLNG business development opportunities serve to confirm the very significant potential of the strategy, where the company currently enjoys an advantaged competitive position,” Chapman said of his departure.
