Chellaram revealed as buyer of Klaveness kamsarmax

Chellaram Shipping, which has been busy paring back its dry bulk interests for most of this year, is still sniffing around for some bargains.

It has been reported by Clarksons Research as the buyer of the just-delivered Bavang. The brand new kamsarmax was ordered by Klaveness Bulk at China’s Yangzijiang yard and has been sold for $19.2m.

As reported on Splash last week, the sale marks Klaveness exit from the kamsarmax sector, having ordered a total of eight kamsarmaxes at the same Chinese shipyard three years ago.
