China may ease coal import restrictions

Beijing: Beijing is considering easing the proposed low-grade coal import ban which sparked a protest of five major utilities.

The new standard might allow more supplies from China’s current biggest low-grade coal provider, Indonesia, an industry insider said. "The National Energy Administration (NEA) is considering lowering the restriction so that more imports will be able to get through." the source added. [06/06/13]
