China’s part in the world’s biggest boxships

Dalian: As the world’s largest containerships get rolled out from Korea it has emerged that China had much to do with the giant Maersk EEE ships, capable of carrying 18,000 teu ships.

Hull blocks were built in Shandong and shipped by barge to South Korea' Daewoo Shipbuiding & Marine Engineering yard. 40% of the steel used in the 20 ships under construction came from DSME’s Shandong subsidiary in Yantai.  [15/05/13]
