Cracks found on Modec FPSO off Brazil

Cracks have been found on the hull of Modec’s troubled FPSO Cidade Do Rio Janeiro off Brazil. All crew have been evacuated from the vessel, out of use for the last year.

The FPSO, on charter to Petrobras, was due to be moved from the Campos Basin soon. Overhead flights have identified a spill of around a ton of oil residues.

On January 2 this year another small oil spill was reported from the same FPSO.
