Densay takes second cape

Kassian Maritime has sold a 2007-built capesize named Satori. The 177,000 dwt, Mitsui-built vessel fetched $18.5m with brokers linking Turkish outfit Densay Shipping to the deal. If confirmed, this will be Densay’s second cape. The price is firm as the ship is sold on the basis of a drydock due in January.

The deal is the first in the secondhand market by 39-ship-strong Densay who has decided it’s better to invest in newbuildings. A few weeks back, it was noted ordering a ship in its favourite segment, adding a single 63,000 dwt ultramax bulk carrier at Sumec New Dayang for around $32.5m with delivery in the first half of 2026 while in May, the  Tayfun Gunerhan-controlled outfit ordered four ultramaxes at two other Chinese yards. In addition to these ships, it has 12 more on order.
