Diana Shipping fixes bulker pair

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into time charter contracts for two of its vessels.

Uniper Global Commodities has taken 2012-built post-panamax vessel Amphitrite on charter for a minimum of 14 months, and up to maximum 17 months. The charter has commenced this week at $5,000 per day for the first five days of the charter period and $12,750 per day for the balance of the charter. The vessel was previously on charter to Cargill at $11,150 per day.

Diana has also entered into a new time charter contract with Phaethon International for 2006-built panamax Naias. The charter commenced on January 26 and is for 23-26 months at $10,000 per day. Phaethon was paying the same rate for the vessel on the previous charter.

Diana says the two deals will generate around $12.22m revenue based on the minimum time charter periods.
