Dingheng makes LNG bunkering tanker debut

Dalian: AVIC Dingheng has won an order to build a 6,200 cu m LNG bunkering tanker from Jahre Marine. This is the first time the yard has won a contract for this ship type.

The newbuild will be fitted with an IMO A-type liquefied gas storage tank which will be developed and supplied by Torgy LNG while Rolls-Royce Marine will provide the containment system with a design for an LNG-fuelled engine.

Jahre Marine secured funding for the newbuilding from the Norwegian Nox fund and Nox Infrastructure facility fund and is also planning to receive financing from Norway's Environmental Technology Funding project.  [11/06/13]
