DSME wins up to four LNG carriers

John Fredriksen’s Flex LNG is being widely tipped as the mystery European owner behind an order at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in South Korea for two firm plus two options of LNG carriers.

All four 173,4000 cu m are priced at $728m, which will come as a massive fillip to struggling DSME. The 295 m long, dual fuel ships will deliver in 2019.

Fredriksen’s crude tanker firm, Frontline, recently swooped for a pair of VLCC resales also under construction at DSME and due for delivery later this year.

    1. Thanks Halvor, well spotted. It used to be I believe, but I think it should read Flex LNG rather than Golar. Have updated it.
