E. Nomikos buys panamax

Greece’s E. Nomikos Corp, a privately owned shipping company, has added its first ship in two years, tabling just under $18m for a 15-year-old, Oshima-built panamax, Xing Ji Hai, sold by Chinese interests.

The last time E. Nomikos was in the market was in 2022 when it added a ship from another Chinese owner, the 13-year-old Tsuneishi Zhoushan-built, 82,000 dwt Rosco Litchi

According to brokers, the latest bulker will join five similarly-sized and aged ships in the E. Nomikos fleet, who also note that the outfit is selling a 2004-built panamax. The Piraeus-based outfit owner has had ships on the water since 1920.
