EA Technique orders product tanker trio at Zhenhe Shipbuilding

Malaysian owner EA Technique has entered into an agreement with China’s Ningbo Zhenhe Shipbuilding for the construction of three product tankers.

The three 9,000 dwt vessels will be chartered to PETCO, a unit of Petronas, under a five years firm contract plus options for another five year. The total value of the charter contract is MYR239m ($57m), and delivery of the vessels are scheduled at the end of 2020.

EA Technique is a subsidiary of Johor Corp. The company currently operates six oil tankers and two FPSO units.
