Norwegian offshore vessel owner Eidesvik and compatriot Agalas have joined forces to build up to five construction support vessels (CSVs) for subsea and offshore wind operations.
The first vessel, costing about €81.5m ($87.8m), will be built at Sefine Shipyard in Turkey and owned by Eidsvik Agalas venture, in which Eidesvik will hold a 50.1% stake. The shipowning outfit has options for four additional newbuilds at the yard.
The 99.9 m long newbuild will feature methanol dual-fuel engines and a battery hybrid system and, once delivered in early 2026, will be the world’s most environmentally friendly vessel within its operating segments, Eidesvik said.

Eidesvik will manage the vessel that will be equipped to perform inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) work on a three-to-five-year charter with Reach Subsea.

Agalas was formed in 2022 by NSK Ship Design and fishing industry players Ytterstad Fiskeriselskap and Kransvik Kystfiske and already has ties with the Turkish yard, including a cable layer newbuilding project earmarked for Cecon charter.
